The West Berkshire Partnership is the public, business and voluntary and community sectors working together to improve the quality of life for everyone in West Berkshire. The priorities of the West Berkshire Partnership are set out in the Sustainable Community Strategy 'A Breath of Fresh Air' (see purple box on right)and the actions to deliver these priorities are managed through a number of Sub-Partnerships as set out below.

Children & Young People's Trust logo
The West Berkshire Children and Young People's (C&YP) Trust currently comprises over 100 different organisations including Council Services, Health Services, Voluntary Organisations and Businesses.
Cleaner and Greener
West Berkshire's Greener Sub-Partnership is one of six partnerships reporting to the Local Strategic Partnership Board to deliver the outcomes outlined in the Sustainable Community Strategy called 'A Breath of Fresh Air'.
Health & Well Being
The Health and Wellbeing Sub-Partnership aims to improve the the health and wellbeing on everyone across West Berkshire.
New housing
The Housing Sub-Partnership consists of representatives from all areas of the Housing sector. It aims to promote the housing agenda across West Berkshire and bring positive outcomes in terms of increased provision and safe, high quality housing in the District.
Safer communities
The Safer Communities Partnership Team was created in March 2007 with the co-location of key Community Safety Officers from West Berkshire Council, Sovereign Housing Association and Thames Valley Police.
Proposed Projects
The Skills and Enterprise Sub-Partnership seeks to tackle the major skills, employment and economic issues that are important in the continued prosperity of West Berkshire.
Market Scene
The Stronger Community Partnership reflects the WBP's approach to building a sense of belonging, encouraging community participation, reducing inequality and improving access to services for all.

Taking action on the Recession has been recognised as a priority for the West Berkshire Partnership Board. Reports, monthly commentary and the Action Plan can be found on this page.
The Local Area Agreement

The Local Area Agreement is between the Government, the Local Authority and key partners, to deliver shared outcomes for the benefit of local people.
Sustainable Community Strategy - A Breath of Fresh Air

The Sustainable Community Strategy, entitled 'A Breath of Fresh Air', has been prepared by the West Berkshire Partnership (the Local Strategic Partnership). It illustrates the joint priorities of the organisations working to improve local quality of life. It sets out a long term vision for the district up to 2026.
The Comprehensive Area Assessment

The Comprehensive Area Assessment is a new approach that will provide the first independent assessment of the prospects for local areas and the quality of life for people living there. It will assess and report how well public money is spent and will ensure that local public bodies are accountable for their quality and impact.
Parish Planning

West Berkshire Council is at the forefront of Parish Planning nationally and has been recognised for its pioneering work in community empowerment (see The Beacon Scheme - accessed from the related pages column on the right)). Across the District, communities, large and small, are developing or have developed a Parish Plan.
