P2E
Pathways to Employment - one of the action groups established by WBP in its first years, targeting both local businesses and potential workers, aiming to reduce barriers to employment for all local poeple.

PALS
Patient Advice and Liaison Service - the body within the local Primary Care Trust whose role is to provide support and be a contact point for people using health services.

PCT
Primary Care Trust - the organisation responsible for delivering a range of local medical services. The local PCT is the Newbury and Community Primary Care Trust.

PLASC
Public Level Annual School Census

POT
Pangbourne-on-Thames Parish Council - a WBP partner.

Private Sector
All local businesses and commercial enterprises, considered as a whole. Also called the business or commercial sector.

Probity
Proven integrity and honesty.

Public Sector
All organisations and bodies funded by the public purse (at both national and local levels) and administered either by Central Government or the Local Authority, considered as a whole.

Public Services
Services provided by the state for the community, such as education and medical care.
