ACTVaR
Association of Councils of the Thames Valley Region - a WBP partner
Anti Social Behaviour
This may include crime and serious nuisance such as drug dealing, unprovoked assault, racial harassment, intimidation, vandalism and damage to property, and/or nuisance, which can be applied to less serious but frequent and annoying behaviour such as lack of control over pets, upkeep of gardens, excessive noise, verbal harassment, boundary disputes and non-permitted use of premises.
AONB
Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty - an area whose natural environment is protected by law. The North Wessex Downs AONB, which includes nearly 74% of West Berkshire, is the largest in southern England
ASBO
Anti-Social Behaviour Order - an order from a magistrate designed to prevent anti-social behaviour continuing to cause problems. It may result in the recipient being banned from certain places, or from meeting certain people.
